When I saw this sky night before last, I was mesmerized by how only a tiny crescent of the moon was illuminated, yet you could see the full moon. It was so bright, it was hard to shoot. Most importantly, this moon and the twinkling duo above it made me feel that Christmas is near. The birth of Christ is at hand. It made me think of the three wise men being guided by the stars to a manger in Bethlehem where Jesus, an extraordinary human being, would enter the world. Christmas is a time when even the hardest hearts can find softening (remember Scrooge!). The greatest gift you can give at Christmas (and every day) is LOVE. Make a point to extend warmth and good wishes to everyone you meet. It might seem strange, at first, to connect with someone you don’t know, but once you get started, it’s easy. I wave at the school crossing guard, at the Cal Trans worker fixing the streets, at the Postal worker on their deliveries and feel a real connection…you can too!
